Researchers David Jewitt, of the University of Hawaii; and Jane Luu, of the University of California at Berkeley, report the discovery of a very faint object with the University of Hawaii’s 2.2-meter telescope at Mauna Kea. The object, later identified as new comet “1992 QB1,” is approximately 64 million kilometers from the sun.
