Exciting news for Watermark Learning! Our CEO, Elizabeth Larson, and President, Richard Larson, received an exclusive invitation to attend the Small Business Leadership Summit in Washington D.C. May 11-13, 2015. They are a part of a select group of 100 small business owners from across the U.S. to participate. In the last few years, Elizabeth and Richard have assisted the organizer of the Summit, the Small Business Majority, in their lobbying efforts with the U.S. Congress on behalf of small businesses.
They were chosen because of their innovative and supportive efforts in the small business world, that play a role in shaping national policy. Participating in the Leadership Summit will allow them to give further input in setting the group’s agenda. “We feel honored to be chosen and excited at the chance to visit the White House for meetings with members of the Administration and Congress,” Richard and Elizabeth said.
Over the course of three days, Elizabeth and Richard will be able to attend meetings at the National Press Club and the White House. There they will hear from several high-profile speakers, including members of the Administration and Congress and will get the chance to participate in panels and breakout sessions to discuss policy concerns for 2015. The Summit also features numerous networking opportunities and an awards ceremony.
“The Small Business Majority is a major lobbying group and one that focuses on issues important to both small and large businesses – matters like healthcare, economic growth, and entrepreneurship,” Richard said.
