Presentation Recap

Richard Larson, CBAP, PMP, PMI-PBA, had a full house for his presentation “Bulletproof Business Cases: 5 Critical Things Every Project Proposal Needs,” a hot topic at BBC. He described the essential components of an effective business case, which is an important technique in the BABOK® Guide. Attendees learned how to apply each step in a 5-part method to developing business cases that will contribute to the organization’s bottom line.

Mini Breakout Sessions

Did you stop by for one of our breakout sessions? We were excited to offer four mini breakout sessions on Business Analysis, Agile, and Business Relationship Management (BRM) throughout BBC, and they were a great success! We had a lot of interest in the BRM role as a possible career path for BAs.

We heard great questions ranging from, “What is a BRM?” to “What does the certification entail?” We were happy to have Starla Borges, Chief Knowledge and Learning Officer at Business Relationship Management Institute (BRMI), with us to answer questions and provide briefings.

Our team was also delighted to hear from those of you that stopped by and told us how Watermark Learning helped you earn your CBAP certification! We take great pride in helping you prepare for and advance your career with these achievements.

Hot topics at BBC 2016

1. Certifications (CBAP, CCBA, and BRMP®):
   Many of our BBC discussions were around certifications – the new v3 IIBA exams and the BRMP for senior BAs. In fact, there was so much interest that we sold out of our CBAP Certification Study Guide at the bookstore and even sold our own supply, including our display copy! We were also thrilled to hear from so many in attendance that Watermark Learning helped them in their certification journey.
2. BA Fundamentals:
   Many organizations are still working to establish standards and reorganizing their BA functions. Whether you are new to business analysis, or are experienced and want a more formal approach, learn the fundamental skills and a proven, repeatable process in our Business Analysis Fundamentals class.
3. BI for BAs:
   Business intelligence is growing in relevance for BAs and there was interest in it at BBC. Take a deeper dive into this topic in our 2-day Business Intelligence Requirements Analysis class. Learn to improve your BI project success by learning a combination of industry best practices and practical approaches.
4. Business Architecture:
   Interest in business architecture is gaining speed as a critical skill to learn for BAs and BRMs.
